This is a museum quality reproduction of a wing shown on page 38 of the book "Thirty Years of US Army Pilot Wings" by Charles I Fitzsimmons. The wing is made in sterling silver with the letters US in 24kt gold plate. This is a rather modern looking design for WWI and a unique looking wing for that era. Dr. Firzsimmons does not provide any insight into the wing. It may have been a one of a kind. The silver parts are mounted on a brass plate which is covered by the wool cloth. As was the original. This would be a unique addition to any WWI Collection.
