Army Sgt. 1st Class Benjamin B. Wise died January 15, 2012 Serving During Operation Enduring Freedomassigned to 3rd Battalion, 1st Special Forces Group, Joint Base Lewis-McChord, Wash; died Jan. 15 at Landstuhl Regional Medical Center, Germany, of injuries sustained Jan. 9 in Balkh province, Afghanistan, when enemy forces attacked his unit with small-arms fire.
I was reading through the list of fallen soldiers and and came across the
name of SGT Roy A. Wood.
I served proudly with him with the 73rd Field Hospital in St. Petersburg. I
did not know he was killed and I grieve for him today.
